Modeling Cellular Organelles

jill-wentzell

This lesson plan is an activity to complement lectures on the structure and function of cellular organelles. Students will be provided with various materials from which they will build a model of a plant or animal cell. Working in groups, students will decide, based on form or functional similarity, which materials they will use to represent each organelle and will fill out a worksheet to report this information including justification for the choice. A worksheet with suggested answers is provided, but other appropriate answers exist.
