The SciREN Portal is an exciting, new online network, similar to LinkedIn, where SciREN researchers and educators can sustain connections made at SciREN events by building personal member profiles, uploading and downloading lesson plans, and engaging in discussion forums. Educators who attend a SciREN event will have access to all of the lesson plans on the Portal.

 

All researchers must upload their lesson plans to the Portal prior to their SciREN event. Researchers should follow the steps below to upload their lesson plans to the Portal. This process should not take more than 5-10 minutes.

  1. Create Account: In the upper left of the main menu bar, highlight ‘Log-In’ with your mouse / cursor. Select ‘Register’ from the drop-down tabs to register for a new account. Follow the instructions that appear.
  2. Complete Member Profile: Once you’ve logged into your new account, fill out the requested information for your member profile and upload your picture.
  3. Upload Lesson Plan: In the upper left of the main menu bar, click ‘Portal.’ Select ‘Lesson Plan Directory’ from the drop-down tabs. Once in the Lesson Plan Directory, click the grey button marked ‘Upload Lesson Plan’ at the top of the page. Fill out the appropriate fields, select files of corresponding to your lesson plan and associated materials to upload, assign proper tags, and click ‘Save.’ Your lesson plan should now be uploaded and visible in the Lesson Plan Directory.
